To work as part of a team preparing food rescued from becoming waste to serve on a pay as you feel basis. Covering one or two of the above time slots you will assist with delivery of surplus, and help distribute it in the mornings. In the afternoon slots you will help manage the general running of the kitchen responding quickly to the executive chef needs. Generally ensuring a clutter free environment emptying bins regularly, keeping the sink clear, sweeping the floor and helping out on our ‘food boutique’ stall.  Experience of, interest in and awareness of food waste campaigns and TRJFP is an advantage in getting to grips with how we work.  Additional hours and days will become available and changes in venues and times are to be expected until we secure our own permanent home.

To oversee the general smooth running of our current Friday café and as we expand you will be responsible to the Directors and responsible for the volunteers and the general running of the café. This will mean that you; review performance regularly, agreeing targets for improvements with the directors. Contribute to the growth and effective delivery of private hires and events. Identify strategies for retaining and attracting new volunteers and customers. You will ensure the folder for safer food and better business is kept up to date, this will involve; monitoring and managing all maintenance issues. Promoting and practising relevant health and safety and fire safety standards. Ensuring all relevant legislation is adhered to. Ensuring adherence to effective security procedures, including opening and closing procedures. Ensuring that accurate cashing up and cleaning procedures are carried out at end of night. Welcome customers and prepare food and drink and help out wherever needed demonstrating best practise. Log menus and meals sold, log weight, food and source of of intercepted food/donations as they arrive. Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in stock system.

You are needed to provide both clerical and administrative support to the directors, either as part of a job share or individually. The role plays a vital part in the administration and smooth-running of TRJFP Doncaster. We need you to keep our spreadsheets updated with our weekly tallys of the amount of food we intercept, where from/what type (where possible), the amount of meals and people we serve and the donations we receive. We need you to devise and maintain systems to ensure the development of, and smooth implementation of our projects. We have spreadsheets and basic systems we currently use you can work with or adapt if you’d prefer. You will need to help devise and plan stock systems, and ways to log data. The role will involve using content management systems to maintain and update websites and internal databases. Photocopying and printing various documents, sometimes on behalf of other colleagues. Recruiting, training and supervising others and delegating work as required. Manipulating/presenting statistical data. Contribute to team effort by delivering work on time, as needed.
